Most of the original players will be returning to the superhero flick, but there will be at least one more character who may chew up a little scenery from Aquaman/Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) himself – his son. There is one added distraction surrounding the upcoming flick. Amber Heard, who plays Aquaman’s Queen Mera of the sea, is dealing with some striking personal issues on land. The actress is currently involved in a courtroom battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp over a defamation lawsuit filed by him with Heard countersuing. Furthermore, in light of information stemming from said hearing, scores of Johnny Deppfans have signed a petitiondemanding Heard be removed from the film.

The Lost Kingdomcentering around Aquaman “reluctantly teaming up” with his brother King Orm the Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson) to take on the ruthless David Kane/Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) may or not be key to the well-being of Aquaman’s son. In the film, Black Manta appears to have grown stronger and has a new ship. According to comic book lore, Aquababy has the ability to create life out of water and because he has saved Ocean Master on numerous occasions, the uncle develops a fondness for his nephew despite his hatred for his brother. Aquaman and Mera eventually have another child, a daughter named princess Mareena.
Black Manta is infamous for the suffocating murder of Aquababy, who is buried at Mercy Reef, the place where Aquaman had been left as a child to die. Due to his son’s murder, Aquaman mollycoddles his daughter Mareena. It is hard to imagine those at the helm of theAquamanfranchise killing off a young child. A more likely scenario may be to have him grow up and fight alongside his superhero father. Only time will tell.
