Announced more than two months agoas coming before 2013 wraps up, Ubisoft’s companion iPhone and iPad game toAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagfor consoles, calledAssassin’s Creed: Pirates, will be available for download in the App Store soon.

The game will cost $4.99 a pop and is scheduled to launch next week, on December 5. From the looks of it, there seems to be a lot to be looking forward to inAssassin’s Creed: Pirates. I’ve included a nice teaser trailer which shows actual gameplay and naval battles right below…

From the technical standpoint,Piratesuses Ubisoft’s new 3D engine capable of rendering“breathtaking moving waters, lush islands and gorgeous graphics”.

I’m certainly looking forward to real-time naval battles, treasure hunting, sword fighting and other stuff pirates usually engage into. The game is said to feature encounters with Assassins and Templars, plus famous pirates like Blackbeard, Bellamy and Hornigold.

ThatPiratesbears legendary game designer Sid Meier’s seal of approval is a huge plus.

Piratesis actually a tie-in accompanying Ubisoft’s upcomingAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag,which is due for Sony’s PlayStation 3, Nintendo’s Wii U and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 on October 29 in the United States, October 31 in Australia, November 1 in the European Union and November 28 in Japan.

There will also be a second-screen companion app to the console game.
