Mastery Jewel [3] can take the place of Dragon/Rzr Jewel [3] as well, helping prevent sharpness loss throughout fights.
When it comes to the jewels you’ll want to use for the Blazing Rafel, it will mostly come down to preference. Increasing your Dragon element and critical hits is always a solid option for the weapon, as well as possibly giving your weapon sharpness bonuses. Though this won’t provide an increase to Whiteflame Torrent’s damage, it will give your weapon some extra uptime without being sharpened. Your goal should be to maximize how often you strike the monster. This will proc Whiteflame Torrent frequently and increase the skill’s damage throughout the fight.

This specific combination of gear will get you started with a solid set of armor that provides a foundation you can build on and complete with jewels. If you wish to get some of the leveled-up armor set bonuses, you can swap out a piece of either set that will give you the bonuses you desire. Make sure you consider making full use of theConvert Elementskill. You may want to commit to the Arkvulcan set to ensure that you can max out the skill with jewels.
You want to make use of Convert Element as it will give you the bonus effects if you block or counter the damage taken. This will work well withQuick Sheathe, allowing you to do a sheathe attack and negate the damage while pressing forward with your buffs. The Gore set here provides some additional quality of life bonus to the build, but isn’t something you’ll need to complete the goal of the build. If you choose to forgo the Gore pieces, some adjustments will have to be made to get the skills from the jewels to line up and get the max level out of the jewels you’ll equip.

If you are confident in the Long Sword’s sheathe attacks and countering damage coming your way, it will be a solid choice. Here, you will also want to keep your Quick Sheathe skill at level 2 or 3, depending on your skill with the attacks. However, if you aren’t quite confident in the sheath attacks yet, you may want to use theEvasion Jewels.
Swapping theMighty JewelswithChain Jewelsmay also be a solid option, depending on your playstyle. TheBurstskill will provide you with stat bonuses that rely on you attacking the monster constantly. There are plenty of combinations of jewels to use with the build, but the one jewel set that is a must-have will be theTenderizer Jewels. These are going to give you theWeakness Exploitskill levels needed to have increased affinity with your weapon. Affinity is going to be what gives you higher crit opportunities, making these gems a huge part of increasing the damage to the Long Sword.
Creating a build around the Whiteflame Torrent weapon skill for the Blazing Rafel isn’t an easy task. There is a variety of armors you’re able to combine to increase the damage the skill can do, but you’ll want to complement the damage ticks with other skills when using the Long Sword as well.
