Yes, there are lots of moments inHeartstopperSeason 2 that make viewers’ toes curl, and yes, everyone does love Nick speaking French. Fans can also let out a sigh of relief for Nick and Charlie have their happy ending. They are staying together after all they have been through, coming out on the other side to be stronger than ever.
Here areHeartstopper’sbest moments in Season 2, ranked.
10Mr. Farouk and Mr. Ajayi’s Sweet Tension in Paris
Initially introduced as a very strict and ruthless teacher, Mr Farouk’s heart is melting thanks to the sweetness in the air around him. It all reaches its peak when Mr. Farouk and Mr. Ajayi chaperone the students for a trip to Paris.
Although there are still moments when Mr. Farouk questions why he chose to be a teacher, it is all only banter. Starting with Darcy throwing up on Mr. Ajayi’s bed due to “food poisoning,” the two teachers end up kissing and sharing a bed instead of asking for clean sheets. It is marvelous what love can do to someone, especiallyone who missed out on teenage love.
9Coach Singh’s Advice to Nick
Nick and Charlie cannot keep their hands (or lips) to themselves, even at school. On one eventful day, after rugby practice, Coach Singh catches them kissing at school. Although it’s not the first time someone has walked in on them, it doesn’t get any less awkward.
Nick then gets called to see her at her office. She begins the conversation one might dread by mentioning the tension between Nick and the other boys on the team. Nick admits that it has something to do with his relationship with Charlie. The wonderful coach reminds Nick that he owes no one any information and that he doesn’t have to tell them anything. She opens up about her wife to Nick, much to his surprise. The sweet moment may be short but very impactful.
8Isaac’s Self-Discovery
Isaac’slove for bookshas attracted someone who also loves books, a fellow Truhan student named James. They both start talking and flirting, more on James’ part. They get closer until they kiss in Paris. Unfortunately, it drives them further apart. Isaac confesses that he doesn’t feel the same about James, leaving James heartbroken.

Fast forward to the art show, where Isaac sees a piece about asexuality and aromantic people. He feels drawn to it and deems it more relatable, so he starts exploring the topic by doing the thing he does best — reading books. Isaac now understands himself better and doesn’t feel weird about not understanding crushes or romantic gestures as he did before.
7Charlie and Tao’s Friendship
There are many moments between the two since the first season. In Season 2, though, their friendship grows even deeper. Tao goes through a roller coaster of emotions when he tries to figure out his feelings about Elle. During the process, he feels like he is useless and that he ruins everything that is good. As his best friend, Charlie is always there to convince him otherwise.
Even when Tao confesses that he may be the reason why Charlie got outted, Charlie knows in his heart that it wasn’t Tao’s fault. Charlie builds Tao’s confidence back up and gives him courage. Their little moment in Paris when Charlie puts their names on a lock just seals everything nicely — showing their unbreakable friendship.
6Imogen Stands Up For Herself in Front of Ben
It has been made very clear that Ben (Sebastian Croft) is a horrible person in general after what he did to Charlie in Season 1. This fact is reinforced by the way he treats his new girlfriend, Imogen (Rhea Norwood). He only uses her to gain popularity and also to hide his true self from everyone.
Imogen stays silent until that one dinner in Paris when Ben blatantly asks Charlie how his day was in front of her. She confronts him about how horrible he has been treating her and says that she deserves better. Imogen breaks up with him in front of everyone, and in true Ben fashion, he calls her a cruel name.
His actions just prove Imogen’s point of being a horrible person, and everyone in the room is proud of her bravery in standing up to such a boy.
5Darcy and Tara Making Up
Ever since Tara says “I love you” to Darcy, things have been a little weird between the two. Everything gets worse at the prom night when Darcy disappears because of a fight with her homophobic mother.
They end up at Nick’s house, where they talk it all out. Darcy tells Tara how she hides her true self at home because her parents will never accept her. Tara assures her that she truly loves her, and they both make up and go into their battle of telling “I love you” to each other, more passionate than the last.
One honorable mention is when the group of friends goes shopping for their prom outfits, and everyone puts together money for Darcy to buy her prom suit.
4Nick Comes Out
Nick and Charlie have been so stressed about coming out to people at school, and it all ends when Nick comes out at Tara’s birthday party in Paris. When they are playing truth or dare, it lands on Charlie, and he is asked who gave him the hickey. After a short silence, Nick finally speaks up and says it was him.
Generally, everyone at the partyaccepts the news positively. Only some say how they never would’ve thought that Nick was gay. Both Nick and Charlie seize the moment and say that Nick is bi, actually. But, yeah. A heavy weight is finally off their shoulders.
3Elle and Tao’s Moment in the Louvre
Their journey isn’t a simple one. Going from close friends to lovers can be crazy scary, but they got through it. Elle and Tao spend their time together at the Louvre, doing the things they love. Elle is drawing, and Tao watching her draw.

They finally kiss, and both are very happy about it. Their relationship grows sweeter every day after that, even when Elle tells Tao that she is going to Lambert. He has accepted that decision long before she tells him and knows that they will always be together.
2Dinner Party at Nick’s
Nick and Charlie’s families meet up for dinner, with Nick’s father Stephané visiting. From the very start, the atmosphere is quite tense, especially with the presence of Nick’s horrible older brother, David. David throws rude questions to force Nick to come out to his father, and Nick does, not out of pressure but because he wants to.
What’s great is that Nick and Charlie have such an amazing support system. Nick’s mother, Sarah, stands up for him against David and shows her support to Nick afterward. Charlie’s sister Tori also supports him. When she hears how David speaks very lowly of her brother, she kicks his phone and says she will end him. And, of course, Nick and Charlie have each other’s backs, making the emotional dinner a little bit warmer.
1Nick and Charlie’s Deep Talk
Nick has been noticing how Charlie doesn’t eat much and fears it has something to do with the horrendous bullying Charlie experienced. He gently asks Charlie to talk to him about it, and Charlie tells him everything, including his method of copingwith the horrible bullying, which, thankfully, he no longer does.
Nick is brought to tears as he listens to what Charlie went through. They promise to always care for one another, and Nick comes very near to saying “I love you” to Charlie.
HeartstopperSeason 2 has brought so much joy, love, and tears to the characters and the viewers. It proves that anyone can overcome anything with a strong support system and healthy communication. Understanding and empathy can heal so many wounds one has.
