Helldivers 2 challenges players with daily missions. These tasks are worth doing as they offer decent rewards but can also be confusing. As there’s no bestiary in the game, let me show you how to find and defeat Scout Striders in Helldivers 2.
Where to find Scout Striders in Helldivers 2
Scout Striders are tall, two-legged Automatons and can befound on any Automaton planet. Keep in mind thatthe difficulty of your mission dictates what enemies appear. If you want to battle Scout Striders, you must do so onMedium difficulty or higher. Scout Striders are uncommon on Medium, but I’ve seen multiple squads come from Automaton Drop ships. If you play on Challenging difficulty, you’ll see plenty roaming the map.
I battled a ton of Scout Striders onUbanea, but as the map is ever-changing, you may have to visit a different planet. If you’ve not fought Automatons before, you may find them on the planets with the red background to the right of the Galactic War map.
How to beat Scout Striders in Helldivers 2
Scout Striders are a pain to deal with as they are heavily armored and can shrug off bullets from your regular weapons. Fortunately, that armor is only on the front. If you canget behind your opponent, you’re able to target the driver and destroy them with any weapon.
Getting behind a Scout Strider is easier said than done. If you’re with a teammate, you can distract the Strider while your buddy runs behind for a cheeky kill. If you’re solo or it’s too chaotic to flank, the defaultG-12 High Explosive Grenadeswork wonders.
You can also use Stratagems, but bullet-based ones, like the Eagle Strafe Run, are sadly ineffective. I’ve got a lot of mileage fromOrbital Barrages and the Eagle Airstrike. Just ensure your teammates are a safe distance away before pulling the trigger.
Scout Striders are annoying but have an obvious weakness and don’t hit too hard if they catch you unawares. You have limited options as a solo player, but keep your Stratagems ready, and you’ll be fine.
If you’re a team player, have you added Boosters to your loadout yet? If you’re unsure how to use them or what’s best, check out our guide, which explains everything.
