How to use orange stone rectangles to open chests in Wuthering Waves

You’ll often find locked Treasure Chests on your travels, but most can’t be opened until you complete a specific task. Thestone rectangles you’ll encounter on your journey are Training Dummies. If you see one of these Dummies near a chest, you’ll have to hit each one nearby to open it.

In my experience, theTraining Dummies are always visible from the Treasure Chest location, but this may not always be the case later in the game.

Sometimes, the Training Dummies must behit in a specific orderfor the chest to unlock. You can usually solve the order through trial and error, but there’s a more foolproof method. If youdisturb a flock of nearby Mutterflies(pictured above), they typically fly past the Dummies in the order you must hit them. It’s a good idea to chase Mutterflies whenever you can, as they often lead you to rewards. If you’re struggling to spot Mutterflies or have issues with the graphics in general, you may be able to fix that in the settings.

How can I open a chest if there’s no Training Dummy nearby?

If you’ve scouted the area near a locked chest and can’t find a way to open it, it likely has another unlock requirement. The most common method is todefeat a group of enemies nearby. Once you’ve beaten every enemy and the coast is clear, the chest should open normally.

If this doesn’t work, you may have tointeract with a pressure platenearby or drop an item on it. Puzzles like this usually appear in industrial areas with flat ground, so you won’t find these everywhere.

The early game experience can be overwhelming, especially when the cash shop opens. The Lunite Subscription can be a solid purchase, but it’s good to know what you’re signing up for.
