The Virga Island is one of the more compelling areas inMetaphor: ReFantazio, having a beautiful, scenic vista and compelling story beats that will flip everything you thought you knew about what was going on. That’s on top of a lengthy maze of a dungeon and unique area design that loops around in a giant whirlpool outside the island.
Another aspect is the number of side quests you can pick up, and one of them comes from one of our favorite companion characters,Eupha. After completing the Dragon Temple and recruitingEuphaonto your team, her story will become available to start.

Metaphor: ReFantazio: Dragon Temple Labyrinthine Path Map
Every path leads to something, but most in the Labyrinthine Path leads back to once you came.
Picking Up the Quest
From Virga Island, just outside the inn, you’ll findEuphawaiting for you to talk to her. She, like many of the inhabitants of the island, has a quest for you to pick up, but this one in particular is very important. Not only does it unlock a challenging dungeon where you can find one of Neuras’ treasures to progress his story, but to unlock more of her archetypes.
Her summoning skills are very powerful, so unlocking Devil Summoner and Royal Summoner down the line all relies on you completing this side quest.
Land of Ceremony
Upon picking up the side quest, you will immediately gain access to the new area that requires at least a two-day trip to get to. Once there, you will be met with another multi-layered dungeon that doesn’t really have too many traps (although at least one mimic), but does have shortcuts and various floors to traverse.
The most dangerous aspect is without doubt the griffin, Leogryph, that wonders through the various halls of the dungeon. There are skeleton enemies, but almost all of them spawn infinitely from the flowers that are spread throughout the dungeon. If there’s one dungeon that you could theoretically grind levels, it would be this, as there are many flowers on every floor. Most of them are met with enemies that can be killed in the area without initiating combat, but there are a couple that spawn strong skeletons that will require a little bit of effort.
There will be royal guards spread throughout the dungeon that will help guideEuphato the eventual boss fight, but for the most part, this is a straight forward dungeon that has some decent loot. This includes aPure White Helmthat increases your Endurance by 5, and theMossy Pillarwhich can be given to Neuras.
Once you’ve reached the standard save point, you know you’re in the right spot to face the boss of the area:Homo Pento. This “human” monster isn’t particularly difficult, but it can summon an ally that will boost its abilities, along with a heavy hitting wind attack.
Once you’ve defeated the Homo Pento, you have fully completed the quest and your bond with Eupha will be established. It’s a hard fought battle for the priestess, but you finally get to know her a little more in the end.
