Ben Affleck has left his time as Batmanbehind. And as Robert Pattinson gets ready to return as The Dark Knight inThe Batman Part 2, another Bruce Wayne will come along under James Gunn’s vision. And many wantJensen Acklesto take the role.

The formerSupernaturalstar already has some interesting history with DC, giving his voice to Jason Todd/Red Hood inBatman: Under the Red Hood, and most recently got the chance to play Bruce Wayne himself in the two parts adaptation ofThe Long HalloweenandLegion of Super Heroes. He was also almost cast as the Caped Crusader inGotham Knights, the most recent series set in the Batman universe that premiered a few days ago in The CW and has his former co-star Misha Collins playing Harvey Dent.

The DC fandom is so on board with having Ackles in the franchise thatStryder HDhas published a video that has the actor taking Affleck’s place as Batman:

The new version of Batman will be introduced in 2025 withThe Brave and the Bold, where Bruce Wayne will share the spotlight with his son, Damian.

What’s Jensen Ackles' Been Up to Since Supernatural

After playing Dean Winchester for 15 years, Ackles was recruited by the original series creator and showrunner Erick Kripke to play Soldier Boy in the Prime Video hit series,The Boys, one of the main characters in Season 3.

While working on the new character, Jensen also announced aSupernaturalspin-off,TheWinchesters, which he has developed himself and where he reprises the role of Dean as the narrator of his parents' story. The show follows Mary and John in the first years after they met and how their lives interbreed because of their connection to the supernatural, something they will pass down to their children.

He will soon arrive at the big screen inRust, Alec Baldwin’s most recent film that’s been in the eye of the storm after the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the on-set shooting.

Ackles could also return for the third Season ofThe Boys, which would result in anotherSupernaturalreunion since Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played John Winchester in the show, was recently cast. Another interesting aspect is that Morgan has been part of the Batman universe by playing Thomas Wayne inBatman v Superman.
