If there’s one thing that Ubisoft does well with their multitude of franchises, it’s creating dense environments filled with exploration. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is no different, as the vast world the studio has created is ripe for adventure. Whether it’s the various unique enemies you’ll come across on your adventures or investigating reported Yokai in the area, there feels like an overwhelming amount of content to dig your teeth into.
One such activity is participating in the numerous temples and shrines. Japan is a country of tradition and religion, at least back in the 1500s when Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place. If you’ve ever been to the country, you’ll know that the number of temples and shrines feels infinite, and in Shadows, it’s well represented with some of the most iconic structures in the Kansai region.

Purpose of Temples & Shrines
With each of the temples andshrines, there will either be lost pages that need collecting or shrines that need to be prayed to. Doing so will unlock a good amount of EXP along with a Knowledge point that can be used to upgrade Nao andYasuke. Some of these locations have surprisingly well-hidden collectibles, but with this guide you’ll have no problem finding them.
The Kamigamo Shrine is found in the Yamashiro region of Japan. It is located just north of Kyoto, across the river near the Genbu Highlands.
Shrine Locations
The Kamigamo Shrine houses three places to honor, with all three being relatively close in proximity to one another. This is a deceptively large shrine to explore, but really all you need to look is close to the middle. The first can be found after you pass through the first two sections of the Kamigamo Shrine. When you reach the big entrance to the Shrine coming from the south, take a right, and you’ll find a stone path up to the first shrine.
Starting from where we last left off with the second shrine, head back to the open area and take a right. You will cross a small bridge, and at this point you’ll want to hug a right. The next shrine will be lit up with a couple of offerings laid out at the end of the small pathway.
Once again, starting off from the second shrine you honored above, move back towards the small bridge and look to the right. There will be a large entrance to the main Kamigamo Shrine. While this looks like a simple rocky staircase to a doorway with two lanterns, this is a place you can honor the shrine before moving on.
