Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features a wide array of suits to unlock for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. While the majority are unlocked through leveling up and spending resources, there are a handful that require you to complete side activities. The Saving Lives suit for Peter is one such suit.

To unlock this suit you’ll need to complete all the ‘The Flame’ side story, which begins unlocking after dealing with Sandman at the start of the game. Denoted by a red flame, the side story involves teaming up with a former ally to uncover a conspiracy.

How to start The Flame Side Story

You’ll gain access to The Flame side story early on in the campaign. Following the fight with Sandman in the prologue, you’ll be supplied the ‘Where Have You Been?’ mission that kicks off the side story. At the start, you’ll be prompted to help Firemen evacuate workers from a collapsing building in. Following some Spider-Bot antics, Peter will face-off against a group enemies belonging to a mysterious cult called The Flame. Once all enemies are beaten, Spider-Man will meet up with an old friend that has taken up a new alias, Wraith.

For those who didn’t play the Marvel’s Spider-Man DLC, Wraith is former police captain Yuri Watanabe. In the DLC, Yuri lost faith in the system and took up the mantle of Wraith. The Flame side story focuses on Spider-Man helping Yuri track down the cult’s leader and retain her sense of justice.

Where are all The Flame missions?

The Flame side story is spread out across four story missions, including “Where Have You Been?” The remaining three missions unlock periodically throughout the campaign, or one-after-another if you leave the side story until the post-game.

Unlocking the Saving Lives Suit

The side story concludes after derailing an Oscorp train and watching a cutscene where the identity of the cult leader and his real plans are revealed. The Saving Lives suit unlocks upon the completion of the cutscenes. As for Wraith, while this is the last time you’ll see her in the story, she does still randomly pop up to help you fight crime.
