There is a new Lunar New Year event inPokémon Goto celebrate the Chinese New Year. As it’s the Year of the Dog, it involves catching dog-basedPokémon. They’ve also added another ShinyPokémon.

Pokémon Go Lunar New Year Event
The Lunar New Year event goes live today. In celebration of it being the Year of the Dog,Pokémon Gois offering increased Stardust when you catch a dog-relatedPokémon. The dogs included in the event are Growlithe (Fire), Electrike (Electric), Snubbull (Fairy), Poochyena (Dark) and Eevee. The surprise inclusion on the list is Eevee, as it’s more of a fox than a dog. Also, they’ve opted to leave out Hounour (Dark), which is actually a dog. Yes, he was included in the Halloween event last year but still…it’s a Year of the Dog event and they chose a fox instead of a dog?
Nianticalso confirmed that a new shiny typePokémonhas been added toPokémon Go- a shiny Poochyena (which means you’ll be able to get a shiny Mightyena when you evolve it).
If you haven’t already caught the Lovedisc from the Valentine’s Day event, today is your last day to do so. The event was supposed to already be finished butNianticextended it due to some login issues.
