Since its release on Xbox and PC, Avowed has scored decent reviews and player feedback. Developed by Obisidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, it wasn’t surprising that the game failed to launch on PS5. Still, PS5 owners have held out hope that the title’s exclusivity wouldn’t last long. Now, Obsidian has revealed a lack of current plans for the consoles' release. As first reported by TheGamer, the support team atObsidian appears to have squashed rumors of Avowed on PS5, at least for now.

Reddit User’s Feedback From Obsidian’s Support Team

Reddit useru/Blacktuth_revealed that after asking Obsidian Entertainment’s team about the game, they received the following feedback:

“Unfortunately, your attempts to bribe, kidnap, enchant, charm, and intimidate have all failed. I do appreciate the effort! There are no plans to launch on additional platforms at this time, but if that changes we’ll be sure to let players know.”

Obisidan Verifies There Are No Further Announcements

The team at TheGamer contacted Obsidian to verify the Reddit claim and received a similar, albeit less humorous, reply.

“Avowed is available on Xbox Series X/S, the Xbox app for Windows PC, Steam, Battle.net, and with Game Pass. We have no other platform announcements.“That doesn’t mean Avowed won’t appear on PS5 at some point. “No other announcements” is a less stern answer than “no plans.“Microsoft has repeatedly said that they analyze new game titles on a “game-by-game basis” to determine exclusivity for titles released on Xbox, PC, and other platforms. There’s still a very real chance that Obsidian is considering or already working on a PS5 port that could arrive sometime in the future. Given that Xbox Game Studios publishes the game, it would make sense that they continue to push for Xbox sales instead of stalling those efforts by giving gamers a reason to wait for a PS5 release. In the meantime, if you’re already playing the game, check out our Avowed Wikifor character, world, equipment guides, and everything else you need to master the game.
