Deadpool 3’s starRyan Reynoldsand directorShawn Levyare reuniting for a currently untitled heist comedy. Before working on Marvel’s long-awaited superhero film, the two joined forces forFree GuyandThe Adam Project;the two are also working on a Paramount comedy titledBoy Band.The upcoming heist comedy landed on Netflix following an eight-company bidding war. PerDeadline, the film is “set up as an ensemble in the spirit of anOceans Eleven” and has an international setting.Production details are currently unknown.
Cruella’s Dana Fox will script the yet-to-be-named Netflix comedy. Producers include Ashley Fox, Johnny Pariseau, and Reynolds via Maximum Effort, Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg (who has worked with Reynolds on theDeadpoolfilms) under the Genre Films banner, and Levy via 21 Laps. The film’s concept was shaped by Fox and Kinberg, who pitched it to Reynolds and his production company, Maximum Effort.
Levy and Reynold’s previous released collaborations have both been successful in their own ways: 2021’sFree Guyfared well at the box office, with a worldwide total of $331.5 million, and received a mostly positive critical reception; although 2022’sThe Adam Projectreceived mixed reviews, it remains the third most-viewed Netflix original film within the first 28 days of release.Deadpool 3, which hits theaters on July 23, 2025, is expected to make a huge splash at the box office.The film tops Fandango’s Most Anticipated 2024 film survey, with Tim Burton’sBeetlejuice 2coming in a close second.

Ryan Reynolds is Booked and Busy
It will likely be a while before audiences will see the most recently confirmed project for Reynolds and Levy come to fruition, given their busy schedules.
The two, alongside Kinberg, arecurrently wrapping up production forDeadpool 3. Before it hits theaters next summer, Reynolds will appear in IF, alongside John Krasinski (who has also written, directed, and co-produced the film), Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Alan Kim, and Liza Colón-Zayas. The fantasy comedy follows a young girl who goes through a difficult experience and then begins to see everyone’s imaginary friends who have been left behind as their real-life friends have grown up. It hits theaters on June 04, 2025.
Among his numerous other projects, Reynolds is also set to star in an updated version ofClue, based on the mystery Hasbro game,Animal Friends, which merges live-action and animation and also stars Jason Momoa and Aubrey Plaza, andRed Notice 2, a sequel to the 2021 Netflix film starring Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (who all return for the follow-up). Reynolds will also star in the action comedyCalamity Hustle, which was also part of a recent bidding war won by Warner Bros. The film centers on two very different brothers: Reynolds stars as a cop, while Tatum portrays a low-level criminal who is implicated as part of a diamond heist.
Levy’s upcoming projects include the fifth and final season ofStranger Things,Boy Band(starring Reynolds), andStarman.
