Angelina Jolie’s Interest Piqued with Marvel’sEternalsFor a Particular Reason
Angelina Jolie chooses her films very carefully as she is known in the movie industry for her films and almost every one of them is a massive hit at the box office. As a result, she does not lean towards superhero films, however, there was one exception as Marvel approached the actress for the role of Thena inEternals.
During an exclusive interview with the Empire Magazine viaThe Direct, thePushing Tinactress shared how she isn’t particularly interested in working in sci-fi or superhero genre movies, butEternalswas an exception, as she wanted to make the little-known Marvel characters a big name like Iron Man, and Captain America.
“I don’t usually lean towards superhero or sci-fi films. It’s not usually what I’m looking to do. It felt like something else was happening in this film, though. It was very character-driven. These guys aren’t Spider-Man or Captain America or the Hulk. A lot of hardcore fans won’t know who the Eternals are. Introducing them all at once, that isn’t easy. It’s not one of us in front and other characters behind. It’s this really equal family. And I wanted to be a part of this family.”
Angelina Joliesuccessfully overcame the challenge of making the little-known Marvel characters a big name in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the film grossed $401.7 million at the worldwide box office, receiving immense love from the superhero genre fanatics.

Angelina Jolie Isn’t Looking Forward For a Solo Thena Movie
TheShark Taleactress’ portrayal of Thena sent shockwaves in the superhero genre, as her portrayal of the character was loved by the viewers of the film. As a result, many fans were curious if the actress would be seen in a solo outing as Thena. Despite getting embraced by the superhero genre fans, she still has a lack of interest in the genre.
Angelina Jolie extinguished the possibility of headlining in a solo superhero movie when she had an interview with CinePop viaCollider. She mentioned, how she’d love to continue to be a part of the superhero with a close-knit family in the MCU.
“I loved being part of the family, so I have no desire to separate from the family. But I would be happy to play her again and explore even more deeply the struggles that she has. I think it’s fun thinking of where they’ve been over the years.”
While the actress has turned down the idea of a solo outing, she remained open to the idea of making appearances in other Marvel movies, as the films are interconnected for a remarkable story.
