Today isa greatday forSpider-Manfans as Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television confirm the upcoming live-action series of Nicolas Cage’sSpider-Man Noir. The actor first portrayed the character inSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and he’s coming back for more action-packed adventures this time.
Fans are celebrating after the news broke out as Spider-Man Noir is one of the beloved characters from the franchise. Similarly, the above-mentioned film won Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards.
Nicolas Cage Will Star In A Live-ActionSpider-Man NoirSeries
As reported byVariety, aSpider-Man Noirlive-action series has received the green light signal and has been confirmed by both Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television. Vernon Sanders, Head of TV for Amazon said in a statement:
“Expanding the Marvel universe with ‘Noir’ is a uniquely special opportunity, and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers. The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero.”
The producing team will be composed of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Katherine Pope, President of Sony TV, is also enthusiastic to announce the return ofNicolas Cage.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Nicolas Cage starring in this series! No one else could bring such pathos, pain, and heart to this singular character. Along with our brilliant producers and partners at Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video, we couldn’t ask for a better team to explore this reimagining of such an iconic character in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters.”
Cage had previously hinted at the possibility of Spider-Man Noir’s return after he mentioned that he had been having conversations with the studio. He shared viaCollider:
“Well, I can say that we have been talking. It’s no secret that I love the character. I think the character provides another mash-up of sorts. I can combine my favorite golden age performances.”
The actor described the franchise as a “foray into a pop art mash-up” and he also called Spider-Man Noir “a character that is, I guess, widely considered [to be] Stan Lee’s masterpiece.” Indeed, theSpider-Manfranchise has long been the flagship character ofMarvel Studios.

Interestingly, this will mark Cage’s first regular television role in his entire career. He’s known for his incredible performance on the big screen so this will be an exciting endeavor for the actor.
