Towerborne,the beat ‘em up RPG from the creators ofBanner Saga, is revamping its gameplay with improved progression, smoother combat, cross-play, local co-op for four players, and new missions. The game will arrive onXbox SeriesandGame Passon April 29.

Towerborne A Blend of Classic Beat ‘em Up Action

The game combines the fast-paced action of classic beat ‘em ups with the deep progression systems of ARPGs, delivering a balanced experience between strategy and combat. Designed primarily for cooperative PvE adventures, Towerborne has been completely overhauled since its early access release on Steam last September, incorporating player feedback.

What’s New inTowerborne

With the Class Mastery update, also launching on April 29, Towerborne introduces a new progression system and enhanced combat. The Class Mastery feature allows players to customize each character with a wide selection of abilities, offering the freedom to earn and reallocate skill points, making each Ace unique. Additionally, combat has been fine-tuned for a more fluid and dynamic feel.

The game will support cross-progression and cross-play, enabling players to enjoy the adventure across Xbox, PC (Xbox and Steam), and Game Pass with seamless synchronization. Multiplayer features have also been improved, adding local co-op for up to four players on Xbox and a more efficient online matchmaking system.

Towerborne Now Has a Release Date on Xbox Series and Game Pass

The world of Towerborne has expanded significantly, featuring a redesigned map, improved missions, and over 50 new handcrafted quests to enhance exploration. Additionally, the survival system has been completely reworked: players can now use healing potions in combat to revive allies or boost abilities, though they’ll need a teammate to rescue them if they run out of resources.

Finally,Towerborneis optimized for portable devices andSteam Deck, allowing players to take the adventure anywhere.
