Sometimes a calm and relaxing place is just what you need inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, and The Carousel is exactly that location. There are areas throughout the world that are reminiscent of the old days before the Fracture, but unfortunately they are either surrounded by Nevron, or stuck under rubble. For The Carousel, it’s the latter, and so it’s up to the cast of characters to help renovate this old-fashioned ride to its former glory.

The complicated dungeon of Crimson Forest requires a little effort to complete. This guide will help you do just that.
What is The Carousel?
Located just east of Monoco Station, you will find a whole new area that’s not too advised to traverse until much later on. In fact, the dungeon near The Carousel itself has some of the strongest enemies in the game, dropping upwards of Level 24 Pictos and weapons that can help you get over-level if you simply get the timings down.
Fortunately, The Carousel can be accessed and done as soon as you recruit Monoco in the main story. After this, head outside the station from the back entrance of the Station to find another snowy area to traverse. Continue east until you reach a downed Carousel in the overworld that can be entered.
Breaking Up the Ice
Once you enter The Carousel, you will be greeted with an Expedition 51 flag. Continue forward until you run into a friendly Grandis. It would seem this big fellow had run into fellow Expeditioners in the past, but most of them were in quite a rush and couldn’t help him with his little task.
Fortunately, you have all the time in the world, and so you offer him aid. It would seem his beloved carousel has been frozen for quite some time and, because of this, it’s not working. The Grandis wants one simple thing: help him defrost the carousel to lighten up the place a bit.
After talking with the Grandis, you will now need to move around the carousel and knock over the ice protruding from the ground. One is located near the back of the carousel, the second is on the front, and the last one is on the right. The first two can be found next to the staircase going up to the second floor of the carousel.
After taking care of the three ice pillars, the carousel will begin to move again, even playing the cheerful music associated with it. Return to the Grandis and it will give you a little more information regarding the carousel and how it would be a place where children would play together with the Grandis before the fracture.
In the end, the Grandis will give Maelle the French Bob haircut as a reward for helping him. Be sure to pick up the Colour of Lumina at the back of the area behind some boxes.
