There’s something to be said about the retro look of Windows XP that makes it feel both nostalgic and homey, especially if you used it at one point in your life. But now you can have that same experience every time you pick up your jailbroken iPhone.
EnterWinPass, a newjailbreak tweakby iOS developerSugiutathat lets you experience a Windows XP-inspiredLock Screenpasscode entry interface on your jailbroken handset.
As depicted in the screenshot example above, the WinPass interface provides a username and password prompt, in which you will configure your username in the tweak’s settings and then enter your device’s ordinary passcode in the password field.
Your login experience is accompanied by the traditional Windows XP window aesthetic, along with the class wallpaper all Windows XP users should be familiar with.
Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can configure the tweak to their liking:
Options here include:
• Toggle WinPass on or off on demand• Choose between 4, 6, or another character length for your passcode• Configure a preferred username to appear in the login window• Enable or disable automatic keyboard display• Enable or disable music playback• Choose media from your device’s sounds folder
A respring button is provided at the top right of the preference pane, allowing you to save any changes you make.
At the time of this writing, WinPass is available as a seven-day demo from Sugiuta’s personal repository for free. you may try it out by registering your device’s UDID at the Google Formas discussed by the developer on Twitter.
